Illustrators Journal Kickstarter ProjectHere’s the link to our project http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1360042972/illustrators-journal?ref=email
Hello friends of the Illustrators Journal,

We launched our Kickstarter project for the Illustrators Journal today July 15th, 2012.

“The Illustrators Journal” (TIJ) aka @TIJournal on Twitter started as a one-page newsletter idea and has developed into a go-to blog and popular quarterly digital magazine.

Since the beginning of 2012 TIJ unique visits have increased over 425%!

The increase in readership, site comments and “likes” tell us we’ve hit a nerve of community interest. We publish interviews and stories about any and all artists and eras – the more we know about them and what inspires them, the better we might frame meaning and purpose of their, and maybe our own, lives.

We engage our readers on projects as they unfold, and cover issues that impact artists, their lifestyles and where appropriate business or professional pursuits. We speak “globally” in the hopes that through art we can have greater understanding of each other. Since art is a universal language, if we continue to embrace the creative process we are more likely to manifest a better vision for humanity as a whole.

Our minimum goal is to raise $30,000 but we would ultimately like to raise $50,000 to allow us to transition to a bi-monthly publication sooner and enable us to incorporate video bios, tutorials and interviews. Proceeds will used to:

• Upgrade our platform from document based to full turnkey digital interactive features including video, audio and comment enabled user participation

• Secure printing and distribution rights and partners

• Have a booth at targeted trade show events including Book Expo America (BEA) and Illustrators Conference (ICON)

• Provide distribution of the magazine to retail locations including book and art stores

• Obtain needed equipment to create and edit videos

We need your help and support to spread the word about The Illustrators Journal. Our labor of love has been rewarding thus far – we hear you and are striving to improve and grow our capabilities. But as is often the case, our labor of love has significantly tapped our sweat equity and personal funds. We hope you see and will share the value of TIJ and will help us expand our audience reach and secure funding.

Thank you for your support and encouragement. We look forward to hearing, learning and sharing more.
